Auxiliary Volunteers donate thousands of hours to the hospital in an effort to support the hospital’s mission of providing excellent healthcare with a hometown touch.  Our purpose has always been to provide service to hospital patients, their families, visitors, staff and community.  Volunteers assist daily in 21 areas of the hospital thus exemplifying our motto “Volunteers Take Time to Care”.

In addition to volunteer hours how the Auxiliary assist CCH and our Community.

  • Providing home scales to Congestive Heart Failure patients – monitor weight changes
  • Awarding Florence B. Harris Scholarships – medical related fields
  • CCH Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship Endowment Central Carolina Community College – established 1989
  • Provide outreach to our patients in need, by supplying pharmacy meds
  • Provide clothing and toiletries to patients in need as they leave hospital and emergency care
  • Supply personal items to families that must stay overnight in the ICU waiting area
  • Donate toys, books and other occupying items for pediatric patients
  • Materials for handmade items donate to patients:
    • Handmade clowns for pediatric patients
    • Knitted newborn baby caps
    • Knitted newborn baby blankets
    • Infant burial gowns
    • Christmas stocking blanket for December newborns trip home
    • Prayer shawls for distressed patients and families
  • Provide coloring and comic books and other occupying items for children in waiting areas
  • Supply items for in-patient children’s “Treasure Chests”
  • Provide emotional and spiritual materials and care through trained Pastoral Care Volunteers
  • Snack Packs for Radiology Patients
  • Maintain “Auxiliary Aquarium” in the 2nd floor waiting area
  • Purchased “Geri-Chair” for individuals transported by COLTS
  • Purchased “Patient Trans-cart” for hospital patients
  • Accessories needed for “Parking Lot Golf Cart”
  • Enhanced the esthetics of the “Women’s Center” waiting area
  • Donated equipment and supplies to Lee County First Responders
  • Constructed and Maintain the Auxiliary “Get-Away” Garden adjacent emergency entrance
  • Breast Cancer Patients Comfort Care Fund
